With the beginning of school, I have prepared some Guided Math Fifth Grade Place Value Activities for some Guided Math groups.

### Use these activities in small guided groups to help students understand the different place value math state standards.

## Activity #1 Guided Math Fifth Grade Place Value Activities called

## Rounding to the hundredths

## This activity has 5th and 6th grade students roll three dice. They create a decimal from that. (a three digit decimal) They then round that decimal and place a marker on the game board. When students play with a partner, one partner rolls the dice, creates the decimal and rounds it to the nearest hundredth. That student puts their marker on the board if it isn’t covered already. This is a great activity for students to apply knowledge of rounding that they learned in small group lessons with the teacher. I would put this into a guided math station.

## Go to the URL below the picture to download the free game boards. This site also has game boards for rounding to the tenths and thousandths also.
