Angela Bauer, lead math consultant
Angela has motivated and given teachers hope in math strategies for over 10 years. She is a highly sought-after guided math presenter. Angela shares the process of setting up a guided math classroom. Her enthusiastic presentations help teachers apply differentiated instruction within flexible skill groups in a guided math group format.
Her book, Guided Math: The First 25 Days, details how to transition to a Guided Math classroom. It includes details about setting up math stations. Each week the book describes the behaviors to teach your students. Also it explains the thinking behind planning guided math lessons for small groups. This book includes examples for Kindergarten to fifth grade examples throughout it so teachers can apply it to their grade level planning.
Angela currently teaches fourth grade in Indiana and has taught a math and science course in the education department at Indiana University, Ft. Wayne campus. She uses her 20 years of classroom experience of intentional teaching to meet individual student needs.
Ashley Perry, guided math presenter
Ashley teaches first grade in Northeast Indiana. She utilizes guided math format with a 3 group rotation. Her area of expertise is incorporating hands-on math activities. These activities teach the students to persevere and attend to precision, two Common Core State Standard Process Skills. Mrs. Perry specializes in meeting individual student needs in math. She also has used guided math techniques in fourth and second grades.
